This is a story sent to us by Cathi Andrell about her relatives the Elsmore, Morse and Dorrington families that migrated to New Zealand from the Forest of Dean in 1876 on the sailing ship the Howrah.

Included are some interesting accounts of the voyage which are taken from the sailing ships diary and how the early settlers in New Zealand survived in those early days.
