The sticking point has been going backwards to figure out the Coates >connection and the marriage of William to Elizabeth Tyler in 1817 in >Newland ...

Does the Tyler connection crop up elsewhere or is the marriage confirmed by other records ?

The Forest was a fairly closed community, so its interesting to get "an outsider" - Coates is more agricultural than industrial - and then moving on to Llanellen, intriguing..
