Hi Hilary,
I couldn't add this to your thread as it's already been "locked", I don't understand why but this happens automatically after 20 posts.

Trying to find out any links between the Artillery and Chepstow, a quick Google of "Chepstow Royal Field Artillery" shows this site, the Chepstow War Memorial lists a few from the RFA amongst the other brave men commemorated. I guess this suggests it was a good recruiting town for the RFA, I suspect due to the number of local lads with horse skills.
