Dear Pat King,

I am a great -great grandaughter relation to Sarah Ann Lewis through her son William Taylor Lewis.
James Wood was carpenter and step father to William, taught him carpentry. I have a relation that has James's work bench and t-square in his workshed. William was a farmer, gravedigger for the church and carpenter (build caskets, even his own!) Sarah was strict with the children, James was a nice friendly chap who smoked and chewed tobacco.

I also have records of Sarah and James' deaths.

Sarah Dec. 14, 1944 age 89
James Nov. 10, 44 age 90 Died at 1 High Fleet, Westbury on Severn
Buried Nov. 14 1944
They are buried in the St. Briavels' Parish. Large flat tombstone, Bottom right corner if you are facing the church from the road (right of the church)

While speaking to this relation that has James's workbench here are some notes.

Jim Wood was in Viney Hill
I was told two of the Wood boys moved to Australia, one became a baker
Wood family lived at Beaconsfield, St. Briavels Common, later in Brandon House (Brockweir? when?)
as William Lewis and wife Henrietta lived on the farm with 5 daughters.

I have not much information on the Wood family, but would be interested in finding out more on this connection.

Please let me know.
