If Eligha died in jail prior to being transported, would he have been buried in the jail grounds?

If he was transported, where would I look for records (if any) of his place of transportation?

After reading further census records it would seem that he didn't come back from wherever he was as his wife always stated she was a widow, which could mean that she actually was a window or just said that to cover her shame at Eligha being transported.
