Thanks Paul I hadn't thought he would be free in England in 1856, after seeing the report of him stealing a mare you found, I looked for more articles and found he was was arrested for stealing 6 heifers using the name George Williams and was transported for 14 years under this name, although the officials had worked out his real identity and that was responsible for the theft of the mare. I have found him arriving in Fremantle 1/1/1858 on the 'Nile' and another alias Robert Hawken is mentioned. He is said to have left for South Australia in January 1882. Tery Collins
