In case you've not seen these prior posts, the work of the highly-skilled and very hard-working men at the Lydney Tinplate works has been discussed before, see this post and the links therein;
http://forum.forest-of-dean.net/index.php?id=47872

Which reminds me that this was part of a thread discussing the existance, or not?, of a memorial dedicated to the Lydney Tinplaters of WW1.
http://forum.forest-of-dean.net/index.php?id=47871

It refers to an excellent webpage about the Lydney War Memorial, which includes much detail about the life and death of Arthur Saunders RIP. It also confirms that brother Albert also served, and the absence of Charles' name suggested he did not.
http://www.deanweb.info/war.html

HOWEVER, as I cannot find ANY clear (local) Marriage or Burial Records for Charles, in this site's PRs or on FreeBMD or GlosBMD, and I cannot find him in the 1911 Census, then I cannot be sure.
