Alice M's most-welcome post this afternoon has reminded me I didn't properly follow-up the original Alice Minnie Parry off the above Census transcripts. I recall I had to be careful as there was also Alice Maud Parry born Newent abt 1887.

Interestingly to me she found employment in the same town in southeast London as one of my ancestors did, and at the same time too, perhaps even using the same GWR train ?

The image of the original document shows a little more information, despite the very neat handwriting the final destination is hard to read, it looks like Mannatow or Marraton, Saskatchewan ?.

Alice sailed on the SS Scotian, built in 1898 at Harland & Wolff's of Titanic fame. This page has photos and a detailed history of her interesting life, which includes several mentions of voyages twixt London and Montreal between 1911 and 1914, I think this was Alice's voyage. The passenger count is only 1/3 of previous trips, odd..
"10 July 1913 sailed London to Quebec and Montreal with 362 passengers. Captain B Henry was the ship's Master."

I think this must be her burial, in 1960. The fact that our new forum member "Alice M" aka Dianne Wilson of Saskatchewan is her Grand-daughter appears to confirm this.
