Charles Thorne B1850 in 1870 New York Census ? (General)

Thanks for your great post, and finally solving this puzzle after all these years. Sadly it seems that Russell is no longer active on this forum (his username being displayed black, not blue) - but hopefully he will still see your post in due course.

I've just tried finding more records for Charles Thorne using the FamilySearch site as it included USA records, I wonder if this might possibly be him ?.

1870 Census, New York City, ward 18.
