Jacob Griffiths (General)

by carol griffiths @, Sunderland, Saturday, September 17, 2005, 09:02 (6797 days ago)

Hi

All i have for my Jacob Griffiths is from census reports. He was born circa 1846 Forest of Dean.

1861 his mother Mary and him are in Wales, both are shown as born in England but by 1881 Jacob is declaring Forest of Dean.Mary is widowed.

I dont think he ever returned there- no kids born there or anywhere near, but I would love to find out more about him, especially who his dad was and if he had any siblings.

Any help appreciated as I cant even find his birth recorded anywhere.

I am totally new to this part of the world and so any websites I need to know about would also be welcome.

Thanks

Carol

Hi
I wondered about that birth 1847 but looking at 1861 wales cenus there is a Jacob griffiths 1847 born Blaenavon, so im thinking that will be him.

Re Sarah lewis, mine says birth Pontypool on 1881 census, is the same as Pontpneister on 1861 census that we are looking at.

My first venture to this part of wales, sorry if im being daft here!
