Well is this them - I'm sure its a TINGLE family( as per census) but it looks very similar to your ROBERTS.

Funny that this has re-appeared after some time. I have the parents of William Roberts baptised 1.4.1824 who married Ann as William Roberts & Ann Barnard married 2.9.1821 Newland. William 1824 & Ann had 7 children including Maria 1862 who I believe married Sidney George Watkins 23.11.1879, Sidney being one of the many illegitimate children of Esther Watkins. Perhaps Dave Watkins can confirm.
Another of William 1824 & Ann's children Elizabeth Ann 1854 was one of the 3 wives of John Frederick Whittington who could be the subject of several pages !! One of John Frederick Whittington's wives was Elizabeth Read born 12.4.1852 and one of their children Clarence Oliver Whittington born 21.1.1876, married Selina Read nee Marfell born 28.10.1839 Selina's first husband was William Read 1839 brother of previously mentioned Elizabeth Read 1852.

Going back to Gill's original query at the top of this page where she is looking
for Sarah Ann ROBERTS (1855). Do you have Sarah Ann listed as one of the 7
children of William and Ann.
The reason why I ask is because Gill is a 4th cousin to me her mother being
Heather Watkins and her grandfather Maurice Watkins b.1911. Curious to know as
it would entwine the Watkins and Roberts web even more.

I apologise Gill for missing this at the beginning of the thread, but yes I have Sarah Ann 1854 as a daughter of William & Ann and picking up from your next entry, I had her married to Josiah Jones in 1876, but what's in a name !!
Having added the detail including Maurice, I find (or rather I should say, that my computer finds) he is my 7th cousin, so I would be interested in hearing from Gill who will also be related. Perhaps you could email me using the link here.
Can I add an admin - "thing" - here Dave, I sometimes have difficulty when replying to questions. If I need to look back at the question I lose my answer so far. Being aware of this issue, I just copied the above in Word, then having checked the question again, sure enough my response so far had gone. Whilst I can now overcome this by copying into Word first, I thought I would bring it to your attention.

Just changed hats and logged in as admin.
I am aware of the problem you mentioned as I've experienced the same situation
as yourself many times. When I first set up the forum a few years back it did
actually show when doing a reply the complete message you were answering as
quoted text in the new message. Unfortunately, very few people would delete or
edit the quoted text and as such a thread of messages on a page ended up
consisting of three quarters of a page of quoted text and only a quarter of a
page of actual original information.
In order for people to understand and follow the thread I removed that feature
of quoted text appearing. At the time I did experiment with the code to try and
get the text of the message you were replying to be viewable but not as quoted
text in the body of the new message but separate from it.
I was never able to get it to work correctly so I let it be for the time, but
now you have brought the subject up I will revisit the problem again and see if
I can do anything.

Because I have a head like a sieve, I got round this problem by setting up two FOD Message Board Tabs. I can then flick between the two screens to check up on the query. Works for me!

Sarah Ann ROBERTS (1855)
Hello Cousin Jim
Well we seem to be talking about the same Sarah Ann Roberts. I have her married to Josiah/Joseph Jones and have the Certificate if you would like a copy. They have 2 children.
Josiah dies betwen Apr 1881 - Dec 1884, But have no confirmation apart from Sarah shown as a Widow when she remarries 8 years later a Arthur Lusty (also have Certifiicate) and you probably know all this anyway.
Have never been able to find Sarah and her parents William & Ann on the 1861 Census, which led to my original enquiry on the message board.
If you could help with any information would be very happy.
