Anybody with FITZPATRICK connections? (General)

In trying to solve an ongoing family history puzzle I am asking if anybody has
any connections with the surname of FITZPATRICK particularly in the Forest of
Dean and Bristol areas. I am aware that the surname FITZPATRICK is not common in
Gloucestershire and originates from Ireland.
All my known ancestors on my fathers side were born in Gloucestershire and
Herefordshire mainly in and around the Forest of Dean. However It is almost
certain that somewhere in the past 300 years in my direct male lineage the
surname was FITZPATRICK.
A few years back as an aid to tracing my ancestors I joined the Watkins DNA
group and submitted a sample of my DNA. This particular DNA test lists my
Y-chromosomes.
The Y-chromosome element of DNA passes from father to son basically unchanged
over the generations. I have just discovered that I have a match of 25 markers
out of 26 with a male person with the surname FITZPATRICK a match of this
resolution indicates that the two men share direct paternal line ancestry
statistically in fewer than 12 generations.
I never expected to match my DNA with another WATKINS except for a few
generations back as my male line was broken with my great-grandfather Joseph
Watkins being born out of wedlock to Esther Watkins and a father unknown. Joseph
adopted the Watkins surname.

You may be aware that the Duchess of Dunraven - Ireland - owned nearby Clearwell Castle and this may be the source of your Fitzpatrick DNA. I found some information by searching using Google and information is held by the National Library of Wales which might help at http://www.llgc.org.uk/lc/lcs0066.htm#DUNRAVEN. Some Norman may have availed himself of his feudal rights....
I also have come across a family called William Gill of Navarn, mercer to whom I am indirectly related. There is a Nawan in Ireland, but I have never been clear as to whether this Nawan is a form of Newern in the FOD. The details are as follows:
1. RICHARD GILL of Nawan, Mercer (b before 1651; dictated his Will on 12th May 1676; died 29th May 1676); married MARY UK (b before 1651; died 13th of September 1689 will 1689 Gloucester Consistory Court Lydney 114); had issue:
1.1. RICHARD GILL; b before 12th May 1676 and after 1655; alive and unmarried 12th May 1676, dead before 17th June 1715 since his wife Mary is a widow by this time; married MARY MORGAN before 1691 (could be MARY MORGAN (baptised 5th February 1665: will GDR 1715/124 proved 17th June 1715) daughter of THOMAS and PRUDENCE MORGAN of Coleford and mentioned as MARY GILL in THOMAS MORGAN’S Will of 1710).
