I came across this photo that may be of interest.
The back of the card is annotated as follows:
"Cyril Trigg when he first started work on the GWR as a porter at Lydbrook."
I presume that Cyril Trigg is the lad in "civvies" at the front of the picture.

I was just browsing the web site to rest my "fiche eyes" and spotted this photo.
There is a definate facial resemblence to the Cyril Trigg that I knew all my life.
He retired from the railways when Diesel took over from Steam and lived into his eighties. He was active in the Dean Forest Railway Preservation Society when it started. For some reason November 2nd comes to mind - I think it was his birthday. We are distantly related through his wifes family, and Cyril and his wife Dorothy Melindra were always known as Uncle Cyril and Auntie Dot to my generation. I could go on, but .....time = forest of dean bmd records these days
