William Frederick HILL, Mosley Green (General)

by rachel Hill @, Burlington, Ontario, Canada, Friday, March 17, 2006, 08:45 (6618 days ago)

Afternoon All,

At the moment I have traced birth/marriage/ death information to my
great-grandfather (William Frederick Hill).
I have the father's name as William Frederick Hill on birth
certificate. William Sr. may have died between 1880-1881, as there is
a infant born (Cora 2m) in the 1881 census to the same family of
William Jr. This family was listed to be living in Mosley Green at
the time of the census.

If you know of any Hills that lived in the FOD I would appreciate any
information.

Regards,
Rachel

Thank-you again for the help "Slow Hands"

Would Ezra and Lydia be an abbreviation or adjustment for other names?

Would Cambridgeshire, Glos be a listing for Cambridge, Glos - across the Severn from Lydney?

Lydia Hell abt 1868 Whitecroft West Dean, Gloucestershire, England
Daughter West Dean Gloucestershire

Interesting to note the difference of years between different census records for the same name.

Rachel

Haven't checked the census image, but could just be a transcription error

Would Cambridgeshire, Glos be a listing for Cambridge, Glos - across the Severn from Lydney?

Yes its either Cam or Cambridge, near Dursley / Slimbridge.

Dear Mike,

Thank you for letting me know about the ability of purchasing CDs from the GFHS.

I could just kick myself though, I was there in December researching feverishly for the
HILLs (and other branches) for 4 long days. My eyes were glued to the screens that I
didn't even think to ask if there are any records on CD that I could buy and research
at home. Good to know though, I will look into it on the GFHS website.

By the way, the following week of my visit to the area I was in CAM and did find the
tombstone for James and Hester right close to the main church doors. It was a special
moment to be within feet of your furthest known ancesters.

Regards,
Rachel
