Broadwell Bridge (General)

I often hear about Broadwell Bridge because of my father living in the area, I know at present there are modern houses built there and in the past there was a school.

But was there ever a bridge? if so what for?

On visits in the area I cant imagine any reason for a bridge at any time...

Another thing that baffles me I guess about the area

Broadwell Bridge - early Forest tramways

I have a feeling there was a early tramway running west from Broadwell towards Pool Green and then heading south west towards Coleford. I can't recall it going east towards Speech house, but it would seem probable given the quarries in that direction.

So a road bridge over the tramway perhaps, or a short tunnel is highly possible in the Forest.
