Hannah Knight was born around 1822 in Little Dean, on her marriage certificate her fathers name is given as James Knight.
Any information would be helpful in tracing the Knight family.

Hannah married David Gratton in 1847,by then she had moved from the forest of Dean and was living in Trevethin.Thanks for the details.I wonder if she lied about her age? she was 26, getting married.I have tried to join the site, have given my details, but for some reason I fail to register, everything goes through alright,but I am told to wait a day before it comes active,but it never does.

So looking around in 1851 we have a pretty close match to the 1841 KNIGHT family from Ruardean ( bertha 2/6/6), with Abia, Susan and John siblings to Hannah.

Thanks, its all food for thought, someone picked up a James Knight in Little Dean,in the 1841 census,I have to wonder when Hannah left, to live in Trevethin,she is recorded as a Spinster on her marriage cert.Did she once work? perhaps her family stayed in little Dean.Her father was alive at the time of her marriage.Anyway thanks for all the help.

If he is on the 1851 , then he is mis transcribed (!) I strongly suspect this is your man.

I think I have found him in the 1841 census, at her marriage Hannah is 26 in 1847, but later census reports put her two years younger,it is something I have found before following other families.I can confirm James Knight is not on any 1851 census,but to confuse,things further their is another James knight born in the Dean Forest, and he is the same age,but he is not the father of Hannah.
