I am looking for anyone with a connection or interest to the surname Hazel ( and variants ) to the surname Yearsley. I have located these curiosities in Flaxley Abt 1704 as well as Dixton Abt 1828 and recently in Newent and Newland.

I have discovered a Thomas Yearsley baptised in Newland August 5, 1771 to parents William Yearsley and Sarah who reside in Redbrook. There is a memoranda attached with the register that states: " Parish Clerks Register ammended BT's state surname as HAZLE. Any abreviated forenames have been expanded to the full name." at this point I do not know if Hazle refers to the Mother or Father.

I have a copy of both the parish registers and BTs for Newland. As part of the transcription process the BTs were compared with the parish registers and any differences noted in the Memorandum column, the BTs were not transcribed separately. If you email me I will send you copies of the Yearsley/Hazell entry offline
