I assume this must be Thomas,

GR 1911 Census, Burton Cottage, Abenhall, Gloucestershire

Thomas Gwynne GRIFFITHS, Head, 27, Colliery timberman underground, b. Mitcheldean
Florence Mary, Wife, 30, Married, East Dean
John Gwynne, Son, 2, Abenhall
Montague Ronald, Son, 9m, Abenhall

3 years married, 2 children, 2 alive.
5 rooms in the house.

Sadly, from the BNA, this looks like the cause of his death,

Gloucester Citizen - Wednesday 13 October 1943

Ref the above 1907 marriage of Thomas Gwynne GRIFFITHS to Florence Mary ONIONS, one of the witnesses is Bessie May Griffiths. Searching this site's PRs gives this Baptism, note Bessie is "adult" at this time, so could easily be the witness;

Searching this forum for Bessie proves the above family group, they are discussed in more detail in this prior thread.

Both Thomas and his father John Griffiths are listed as Nailmakers in Kelly's Abinghall Trade Directory of 1894, http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~cbennett/abinghall1894.htm

Prior to this John was in Mitcheldean, as detailed within the prior thread. He is listed as a Nailmaker in the 1876 Morris Directory for Mitcheldean.

The skilled trade of nailmaking has long associations with the Abenhall/Mitcheldean area, as discussed on these prior threads.

Hi Lyn

A snippet from the British Newspaper Archive. Perhaps someone on here has a sub and will post in it's entirety? Pretty please!
