Roberts family of Woolaston

Hi All

I am new to this forum and my reason for joining is my ancestors who came from Woolaston - the Roberts family. I don't know much about them at all as have only really started to look in to them properly, but have been researching my other side of the tree for 20 years. I have William Roberts and Charlotte Roberts nee Powell and their children on my tree, whom my Grandmother Edith Roberts is descended from (descended from William and Charlotte's son George Roberts b.1833 in Woolaston). I think William is the son of Thomas and Lucy but unsure.

Would love to hear from anyone with information or others researching this family/surname from the Woolaston area.

William (labourer) & Charlotte ROBERTS (nee POWELL) married 5 December 1829 at Wollaston : witnesses: Francis WILLIAMS & Harriet HAYNES

(there are a couple of ROBERTS marriages at Woolaston, around the same time) - including a Hannah ROBERTS in 1831, but not too many ROBERTS at all in Woolaston

Look for family names:

1839: Mary Anne
1841: Emma
1842: John
1844: Jacob
1847: Bertha

Hi Debra, welcome to the forum and website.
Have you tried searching the Forum for prior threads that may help you, as often we find "new" questions have already been covered to some extent in the past ?.

Entering "Roberts Woolaston" into the search box at top R/H corner gives several threads which will be worth studying, although be aware that some will only relate to "Roberts" or "Woolaston" and not necessarily both.

Searching "William Roberts Woolaston" gives this thread, hopefully it contains useful information for your particular researches, William & Charlotte are mentioned in the second post down the thread.

That said, searching both the forum and the PRs hasn't been very productive regarding your mention of William, Thomas & Lucy, so ??...

I'm struggling to find the PRs within this FoDFH site's database, but LDS aka FamilySearch has these records of children to Thomas & Lucy Roberts which I suspect you've already seen;
