Family ties to Drybrook (General)

by Mining_heritage, Wednesday, March 28, 2018, 23:30 (2220 days ago)

My name is Nigel James and recently my cousin conducted a geanology tree.
We still have family in Lydney but our forefathers were Meeks an Goldsworthy in Drybrook and the Forest generally.
The family left the Forrest to enter mining in The South Wales Valleys at Tredegar and Oakdale.
Is this of interest to anyone on this forum.
I'm in the process of capturing the family tree if anyone is interested.
My Tel number is 07718 214556

Family ties to Drybrook

You will not find much Goldsworthy info here - only 7 entries in the Parish Records and none in the Forum.

Meek, on the other hand is very well represented with over 1400 items in the Forum and almost 2100 in the Parish Records of which almost 1000 refer specifically to Drybrook (which is only since 1817 when the Anglican Church opened).
If you give us some specific names and dates we may have more info available on those individuals or their ancestors, e.g. James Meek (1847-1918) of Ruardean Hill and Drybrook was my great-grandfather.

If you want to communicate with those of us who also have an interest in this family name, then take Admin's advice and update your profile to include your email address then you (and we) will then be able to communicate dirently.
This facility is only available to registered users and your email address will not be displayed in your user profile.

Regards
-Colin
