Miss Francis Runicles taught me in Sunday School in the 1940s.She was still a spinster when she died.
When I was at school in Monmouth we held our speech days in the Rolls Hall and our headmaster the Reverend Cullingford was always complaining about the acoustics there,obviously others thought it good enough to hold an Eistedfodd there.

Hi Maurice, a tad late spotting your post, but hope you see mine.

Was your Sunday School at St Stephens in Cinderford ?

Asking as I've just read of a Miss Runicles who taught the infants at Bilson School maybe 1950s, and always dressed in a very old-fashioned style, long dark dress etc. I wondered if was the same lady who was prominent at St Stephens when I attended Sunday School etc late 60s onwards, she was elderly and always wore long Victorian style dress. By then she was Mrs Frances Webb, wonder if you could possibly be mistaken about her never marrying ??.

The following FreeBMD records relate, I think;
