RUSSELL family from Mitcheldean (General)

I am trying to find out any information about the Russell family from Mitcheldean. They were shepherds/labourers who worked on the fields and at the cement works and lived on Silver street and The Stenders. There was William Russell and he had three sons called John (Jack) b. 1888, Thomas (Tom) and William (Bill). John had two sons, Frederick John (Jack) and William (Bill)b. 1912. Jack moved to Bristol and Bill moved to Ross. John also had two daughters, Daisy and Elsie, who both moved to Ross.

John and his brothers all joined the army during the first world war. Does anybody know where the men of Mitcheldean joined and when? I would love to find out any info regarding the men of Mitcheldean during WW1.

The Russells seem to have been christened at Abenhall and I believe William is buried there as well as three of his daughters who died in infancy.

Any info or memories would be greatly received.

Thanks,

Marc Russell.
