Thanks for this. I hadn't managed to find the relevant entry on IGI, and having the batch number helped a lot. I think this must be the right one, as age at death can be a moveable feast with these early records! Now I have to try to find out what happened to William between 1750 and 1845, as there is a complete black hole in the records. His wife was Susannah, who died a couple of years after he did, in 1847, age shown as 78.
The person who notified William's death was Louisa Moorfield nee Saul born 1816 in Ashleworth, and wife of George Moorfield, christened November 1816 in Tewkesbury, son of William and Hannah Moorfield. William Moorfield of Chaceley married Hannah Gooding or Goodwin in 1798 in Maisemore. The Chaceley William was son of Richard Moorfield of Norton.
Now for the black holes or brick walls if you prefer!
No records of William and Hannah from their marriage to the birth of George in Tewkesbury.....and no records of William and Susannah at all. In the absence of any information I can't bring myself to definitively say that George Moorfield was the son of this William Moorfield and Hannah Gooding.
So any information is gratefully received, as even a small snippet might help to put the pieces in place.
Your help much appreciated.
Angela
