I am interested in finding out how long Thomas Henry James (born 1852, Raglan) and his family ran the Crown Hotel in Whitchurch, Herefordshire. He was a brother of my great-grandfather, Albert James (1865-1920). I know he was listed there in the Kelly's directory in 1895 and 1913. Sarah James, Thomas' wife, and Martha Davis/Davies, Thomas' mother-in-law, both died there in 1909.

I thought I would give an update on Thomas Henry James.
According to probate records, Thomas Henry James died 22 March 1917 at the West End House, Caldicot, Monmouthshire. One of his brothers, William James, was a saddler in Caldicot. Probate was in Hereford 7 July, 1917 to his stepdaughter, Mary Ann Vaughan.
Mary Ann Vaughan was born in Coleford to Sarah Vaughan (later James) in 1885. Mary Ann (James) and her sister, Rosa James, were also visiting Coleford on the 1901 census. I'm still trying to find out what became of Thomas Henry's brother, John James (born 1861, Raglan) who also worked at the Crown Hotel.
