William Roberts. Shoemaker born abt 1800 (General)
You have to be aware of all potential spellings this long ago, when a lot of people could not read or write, obviously they spoke their name to the vicar but they would not know whether he had spelt it correctly and his translation could be quite wrong. You will see from the reply from Slowhands that the name Parlow was used in 1797 and that for the 1851 Census entry in my original posting John Parlour was used by the enumerator.
