Matilda Cole & John Willetts - Pillowell (General)

by RozLesch, Wednesday, March 31, 2010, 09:04 (5430 days ago)

The above are my 3rd Great Grandparents. I am after any info on Matilda Cole, namely birth, death and parents and siblings. Any help at all would be appreciated to complete this tree.

Also wanted any information on the Willetts children and their families. I know some of them (including my line) came to New Zealand.

Please feel free to Check out my website www.cameronmilne.tribalpages.com to see what I am missing.

Thank you

John WILLETTS m Matilda COLE of Newland - 24 May 1828 Newland. Witnesses: Philip Jones & Ann WILLETTS

Not sure if this helps - There are three other COLE's marrying in Newland around that time - but the grooms' addresses are St Briavels - Richard 1821, Thomas 1823, Henry 1824, (and a Richard COLE of St Briavels marrying in Newland 1805) - and two of Matilda's children have the names Thomas & Henry

Thank you M P - I had found the Marriage bans and am pretty sure that is correct. I have tied in the Census from that time with a copy of John's Will, of which I have a copy. It has all their children listed there. There are so many of them and they have all named their children the same! Makes it difficult to know which William or John belongs to which brother or sister etc. I am sure they are all related somehow no doubt!

I really want to find information on Matilda Cole and her family. I am unsure where she came from. I will keep digging.

Thanks again
