Garden View, Yorkley Slade (General)
Does anyone know of a house called Garden View in Yorkley Slade. My grandma, Hilda Cox and her family lived there from around 1890-1930 and possibly earlier since her grandparents also lived in Yorkley Slade. I visited it in the 1970's and remember it as a red brick house with a long garden, probably a semi & 3 bed. The family were Bible Christians and Colliers and I wonder where the men are likely to have worked?

I did take a visit to Yorkley Slade over Easter and am fairly sure I located the house-now called 'Fairview'. It is of the right age and location as I remember it and red brick/render - looks as if it has been converted into 1 property now. I also saw the 2 chapels which have both been converted to dwellings. The smaller one is off the main road-could this have been the Bible Christians chapel with the other being the Methodists?
