Burials in Ledbury 1800s (General)

by bramcor, Thursday, April 29, 2010, 04:16 (5400 days ago)

An unexpected event in Scotland is taking us briefly from Australia to the UK, & I am grabbing the opportunity on the return journey to take a day trip from Birmingham to Ledbury to see the area where some of my Dally/Dalley/Dallow ancestors lived.

Is it likely that the Ledury Parish Church records on this site would mean the people were buried in the church graveyard there? I am hoping to find the graves of various Dally family members (will include Godsall, Skinner, Lewis, Edwards through marriage)in the 1800s.

Most of all I would like to find the graves of my 4xg-grandparents, James Dally, possibly died 1840, & his wife, Mary Buffin, who possibly died 1837.

Would appreciate any information from people with local knowledge. My time in Ledbury will be short but I look forward to seeing the streets where the various families lived & gaining some idea of what life was like back then.

Thanks...Judy
