1871 Census Ruardean
Walkers Lane
John ROLLINS - age 29, Coalminer, (all born Ruardean)
Elizabeth ROLLINS - age 25
Alice ROLLINS - age 2
Sidney ROLLINS - age 11 months
If you have problems finding a marriage, use the advanced search engine, just put in the Christian names and (in this case the first three numbers of the year & decade 186) - also father's name if known.
Marriage at Cinderford St Johns - 17 November 1867
John James ROLLINGS - age 26 - Bachelor, Collier
Father: William ROLLINGS, Collier
married
Elizabeth BRADLEY, age 23, c1844 Spinster, father William occ. Collier (residence East Dean)
witnesses: Thomas & Ann MEREDITH
If you look at the 'thread' 1861 Census, John ROLLINS c1841 Ruardean, father William ROLLINS
On the 1881 census, Elizabeth ROLLINGS is age 37 c1844 - again born Ruardean.

Hello Steve
Have just come across your message regarding Sidney Rawlings and the incident of the Bears.
I believe my Gt Grandfather George Rawlings born 1867 was also involved in this incident, his father was Alfred Rawlings. I wonder if Sidney and George are related in any way possibly cousins?
The name Rawlings comes from my Mothers side.
I look forward to hearing from you if I can be of any help to you please let me know.
Regards
John Baynham
