Esther WOOD born 1861 at Hoarwithy (General)
My great-great grandmother was Esther Wood (b Hoarwithy 19 Apr 1861), the d/o Joseph & Mary Ann Wood
The 1871 Census shows the family at Red Rail, Hentland and by the 1881 Census she was in service to a Harry F Gardiner, solicitor's clerk at 29 Park Street, Weston Place, Hereford St. Owen
I have her marriage certificate from 1890 to my great-great grandfather, William Watkins - the marriage was at Hoarwithy
However, on this certificate it shows her as formerly Wood, formerly JONES
I have failed in my research to find her marriage to Mr Jones between the 1881 Census and her subsequent marriage to William Watkins
Although it is quite possible that, whilst in service she moved out of the area completely I cannot find any marriage in the BMDs that could be hers
Any thoughts appreciated
Thanks

Where are they on the 1891/1901 census ? No sign!!!
Esther WOOD born 1861 at Hoarwithy
In the 1891 Census, William Watkins and his son (by his first marriage to Eliza Dorrington) are at Woolaston - listed as married
I have failed to find Esther in the 1891 Census although she is possibly in Monmouthshire as their first child of the marriage Mary Ann Watkins was born 3 March 1891 at Pontypool
By the 1901 Census they are back in Woolaston at a small cottage called Norman's Head with their five surviving children and the son of William's first marriage (listed as Walkins), one of whom was Florence, my great-grandmother
