River Severn drownings - WATKINS (General)

The story has been handed down that one of my great-grandmothers brothers (or half-brothers0 drowned as a young man in the River Severn sometime around the turn of the 19th/20th Century

They lived at Woolaston so this is quite possible

However, I am unaware of specific records kept for such events or which newspapers to search for this area at this time

Could someone point me in the right direction?
