Joseph and Francis EVANS Ruardean (General)
by Carole Lewis , Tuesday, May 04, 2010, 18:38 (5394 days ago)
Does anyone have Joseph and Francis Evans, twin sons of the blacksmith Francis Evans and his wife Mary of Ruardean baptised in 1700 in their family tree?
I am trying to link them to the Cowmeadows of the area and would be interested if anyone has information on them.

As you have already discovered we have the baptism records of the twins and many other records of Evans people in Ruardean. If you could be more specific in what information you are seeking and also tell us about the possible Cowmeadow connection we maybe able to help you.

Thank you for your reply. I want to prove that the Ann Evans who married James Cowmeadow in 1762 was the daughter of Joseph and Sarah Evans, born in Ruardean in 1738.I can't find a marriage record for her parents but would like to prove that Joseph was one of the twins born to Francis and Mary Evans. Mary had been a Jordan before she married. There is a Joseph Jordan who is a witness at Ann's marriage.
Twins run through the family tree so it might be wishful thinking.

Is this possible as a death for Francis? Obviously it means that he would have died as an infant.
