Families named BANHAM, Lydney area, 1905-1915 (General)
Have recently discovered that my actual grandfather had the name BANHAM and was not the person I knew as my grandfather. My mother was born with the name Banham in 1909 although I always knew her as being a 'Thorn'. I understand that this man died sometime before 1912 when my grandmother married Albert W. Thorn whom I knew as my grandfather, and who later kept the shoe makers/repairers in Newerne Street (Lydney) until the 1960s. I should be grateful for any information on the name of Banham. Unfortunately I have no Christian name or even initial for this person and I have no idea whether he even came from the Forest area at all. Any comments gratefully received.
Neil Rumbol.
