Anyone got 1920s /30s directories for a look up please? (General)

Hi
Lets be honest, I'm looking for a favour - a look up
Had a chat with my mum this morning, she is 88
I have her parents in Soudley (Bradley Hill)
But she recalls visiting her grandmother as a child (I think therefore we are talking mid 1920s to mid 1930s) as a licensee at the Bilson inn (presumably the Upper Bilson inn) in Cinderford whilst her grandfather continued as a miner
Grandmother is Charlotte Ellen Jones (nee Waite) . Grandfather was John Samuel Jones. I've googled both their names with Bilson inn but drawn a blank.
Of course the 20s & 30s censuses are not available yet nor are the 20s & 30s Commercial Directories on line
I wondered if anyone here has the commercial directories and would mind doing a quick 'look up' for me. Not that I'm doubting my mum, you understand. i love her dearly but her memory is not quite as sharp as it was!
Cheers
Roger

Hi
By typing in "Gloucestershire Directories" I just found this on Kelly's Directory of Glos 1935.
Upper Bilson inn, Jn. S. Jones, 30 Up. Bilson rd ... ... nn, Jn. S. Jones, 30 Up. Bilson rd.

You can view the page for a fee. I haven't investigated further. However, it seems to be what you are looking for.

From one Roger to another.

Looks like your Waites are my Waites.

George b. c1836 marr. Susan James b. c1835. Children I have are Julia b. c1858, William b. c1863 and Eliza b. c1870.

George was 5th child of Samuel Waite and Elizabeth Vaughan. The eldest, John bapt. 4Feb1827 at Newnham PC. He married my great grandfathers sister Mary 2June1850 at St Pauls Parkend. The Bible Christian Connexion all fits too.

Sewdley was correct in it's time. It has settled on Soudley now but in the later 19th Century there was a curate at St Johns Cinderford who rendered it as Soudleigh. I assume he was a gentile graduate of Oxford University.

Hi Roger,I thought so.

Lots of Waits, Waites and Whites in area, many same family. Unlike my Griffiths family. We were at Mitchel Troy, Mon in 18th Century. 4 generations at most and very small families. I doubt if any FoD Griffiths's are related to me. Colin (now in Australia) and I spent a long time trying to establish a connection.

Another publican. Ann Wait of Bradley Hill, 50 in 1841 Census. Also in 1851, 1861 and 1871. The premises are still there. A club of some sort during and since WWII.
