Beddis family crest
Hi..
just come across this post,
The Beddis family tree at Leonardo Spidernet is one which I posted in the 1990.s whilst stationed in Cyprus, some of the information is out of date / inaccurate as the internet was still young, unfrotunetly I cant access it any more, as I am no longer in Cyprus, but the accountis still active..
So Colin and Janet are my dads cousins and Roly my dads uncle.
Aunty Janet used to live with my dad at Broadoak in the 1940s with Dora
My grampy was Christopher William Beddis, his father was George Beddis Caroline Davies..
I know aunty Dora used to visit Colin in the 1970s, Sadly she is a home now with alchizmers, My dad Edward John Beddis says Janet visits her..
My name is Royston Beddis,
Have you met your other cousins in Vancouver ?
Regards
Roy

The surname of BEDDIS was an ancient Welsh personal name 'the son of Ap-Eddow'.The name is a variant of the surname BEDDOW. Fixed hereditary surnames began to be taken in Wales after the administrative union with England in the 16th century.

Resource for BEDDIS / BEDDOES / BEDDOW Researchers
Samuel John Beddis 1850-1893, the son of John Beddis 1815-1864 and Susan Charles 1810-1873, emigrated to the USA with his wife, arriving in New York on 8 April 1872.
They settled in Nebraska, had a number of children, and farmed there for a number of years. After much hardship the family moved from Nebraska to Salt Spring Island, British Columbia, Canada. The link below should be of help to anyone researching this family.

The earliest Forest trace of a cognate is probably the marriage of Ann BEDOES to Edward Hawkins at Awre in 1701

Hi Faye
Not sure if you're still active on this site but I came across this whilst searching for your father on behalf of my husband Derek. They used to spend summer holidays together when Derek used to stay with his Aunt Olive at Yorkley.
He has very fond memories of your father and would be very grateful to get in contact again.
We look forward to hearing from you soon.
Kind regards
Anthea
