I have 11, or is it 12, Esaias Pewtners in my tree, and there are very few people called Esaias not linked to the Pewtner family. Also, one of the Esaias Pewtners was born in Whitchurch 1797, lived in Aylburton and worked in Lydney, so that's another possible connection. He had only 2 daughters, one who died as a baby and the other, Anne, b 1837 married Henry Walwyn in Lydney in 1857. My gut tells me that one of their descendants may link to the unfortunate Esaias Haddock, but at the time of writing have not looked into it. There follows an abbreviated version of the info I have - not a Haddock in sight, but...

Anne PEWTNER, daughter of Esaias PEWTNER and Mary Ann CALLAWAY, was christened on 27 October 1837 in Lydney. She was an Annuitant. She married Henry WALWYN on 14 March 1857 in Lydney.

Henry WALWYN, son of Thomas WALWYN, was born in 1830 (approx.) in Parkend, Gloucestershire. He was an Accountant / Tin Plate Manufacturer. He died in 1870 in Ross on Wye. He and Anne PEWTNER had the following children:

Thomas Pewtner WALWYN (1858- )
Kate Leontine WALWYN (1860?-1870)
Ada Mary WALWYN (1863- )

Thomas Pewtner WALWYN, son of Henry WALWYN and Anne PEWTNER, was born on 1 January 1858 in Parkend, Gloucestershire. He was an Accountant. He married Kate Elvina CHURCHYARD in 1880 in Lambeth, London.

Kate Leontine WALWYN, daughter of Henry WALWYN and Anne PEWTNER, was born in 1860 (approx.). She died in 1870 in Ross on Wye.

Ada Mary WALWYN, daughter of Henry WALWYN and Anne PEWTNER, was born in 1863 in Parkend. She was a Shopkeeper. 1891 - Ada is head of household at High St Ross, next to Swan Hotel. She is a Berlin Wool and Fancy Shopkeeper. Mother Anne and servant also there.

May, or may not connect...

Hi Petrina,
as you probably know, normally you should be able to email other users via this forum, by clicking on the blue envelope icon by their username, or by clicking their username itself. This then allows you to write a private/secure message that will be sent direct to their email inbox, rather than appear on the forum. If they reply (by email) then you will then automatically receive their email address too.

HOWEVER, I see no such icon against DI Elsmore's username, perhaps this is an issue that Admin can please help with ?

EDIT. I see that D.I.Elsmore needs to "Show e-mail link" in their user profile section, see
http://www.forest-of-dean.net/joomla/index.php/help-faq#faq8

Good luck, J.
