I read your post this morning.
I also descend from Bertha's brother, George Hubert Grindle. Tracy and I are cousins. And I guess we are, too!
I'd love to compare notes with you on the Smith family. I did some work on the family a year or so ago, but only what I've been able to find on this wonderful site.
