Sarah Ann Heath - born about 1827 (General)
In 1846 Sarah Ann married Matthew Dauncey. She was 19 years old, stated she was a spinster and that her father was Isaac Preest. Unfortunately Matthew died in 1847 and Sarah remarried. When she married James Robbins in 1850 she confirmed that she was a widow and again gave her father's name as Isaac Preest.
I cannot trace a baptism for Sarah Ann Heath, I have no idea who her mother was, but have three possible fathers.
Isaac Preest born 1759 - died 1838.
Isaac Preest born 1789 - died 1835.
Isaac Preest born 1786 - married Louisa Jenkins in 1843.
Can anyone help me move forward on this query?
I'm not going to apologise for using the ee spelling in Preest. My mother would turn in her grave if I spelled it any other way.
Thanks
Mary

Just to add a rough location for the search; location may be important here as an Isaac living/working in say Newent is not likely to meet a Sarah living/working in Lydney ...

I'm hoping that Sarah's father wasn't Isaac Preest the cattle dealer/farmer as he married Louisa Jenkins in 1843. Their son Thomas Grantley married Sarah's daughter Charlotte Robins in 1878. Which would mean that Thomas married his niece.
It's such a shame that the 1841 census didn't show whether each person was single, married or widowed. I'll delve into the Heath family at Quarry Arch, to see if I can figure out who they are.
Thanks

Thank you Paul I hadn't noticed that. I can see a marriage for John and Mary Parry in 1823, so I'll follow up on that.
Thanks

Hi Paul
I am the GG grandson of Sarah from her marriage to James Robins. My grandmother was a Robins.
Sarahs father had always been a spot of debate for us. Mainly because her daughter Charlotte Robins marries Thomas Isaac Preest a relation of the Preest family from Newland Parish.
