Use of "Jehu" interchangeably for John (General)

Within the non-conformist families of the Forest, has anyone come across the name Jehu being used? And if so, was it practice to use this interchangeably with John?

Jehu was the biblical son of Nimshi, both one time kings of Judah so its not a typo. I also have a Nimshi in the family....

Use of "Jehu"

I would not expect it to be used interchangeably for John

I can understand a Census enumerator recording it as John , or a transcriber interpreting it as John !

Use of "Jehu" interchangeably for John

My great great grandfather was called Jehu Bevan, from Itton, Mon., and on half the censuses he is known as Jehu, the other half as John, sometimes Jehu is written down, but it has been transcribed as John. I don't know if that helps, but that is what has happened with him.
