Sarah/William HUSSEY (General)

by virginiastilby, Friday, February 25, 2011, 13:01 (5089 days ago)

Have been trying to find baptism records for william Hussey 1829 approx and his mother Sarah Hussey 1806 approx on your site to no avail, think they lived in the St. Briavels area so did a full search on that area for baptisms but no luck.

Anyone got any ideas, have posted before under Hussey but that line appears to be locked now. Prior thread http://www.forum.forest-of-dean.net/index.php?id=30706

thanks Virginia

I'll see if I can add to this - They were living in the "St Briavels" extraparocial area which is "The Forest of Dean" to all intents in this time period.

The name may be spelt HUZZEY and almost certainly has links via the Lydbrook / Redbrook Tinworks to Glamorgan. http://www.forum.forest-of-dean.net/index.php?id=15667

HUSSEY HODGES Lydbrook

Regarding
Richard Hodges Sarah Hodges nee Hussey /Huzzey - Lydbrook http://www.forum.forest-of-dean.net/index.php?id=30676

I know Richard was the son of Jonathan and Jane Hodges nee Williams as was John.I have been able to find John's baptism but not Richard's.The thread from jonathan to myself is direct so I too am very interested in the Hussey link.

I have quite a bit on the Hussey link from recent back to earl 1800's, let me know if you'd like it, I also have some photocopies of photos of Hussey family members from 1930's onwards.

John HUSSEY/HUZZEY/HUFSEY - Lydbrook 1768 - 1841

by virginiastilby, Friday, February 25, 2011, 22:12 (5089 days ago) @ slowhands

Still confused - sorry, what is the link to John Hussey then from WilliAM hUSSEY (B1829 APPROX), if william was born out of marriage to Sarah Huzzey.
Whilst searching this site I could only find 2 baptisms for children of John and sarah (williams possible grandparents who he appears to be with on the 1841 census), their names were Mary and Charlotte, I found marriages for them both also, but could find nothing for a child named Sarah.
Sorry to be such a pain Virginia

Still confused

This is the period where relationships are getting blurred. There are not enough / clear records to define the relationships.

My instinct is that William 1829 is Sarah's son , and Sarah 1805 is either the daughter or niece of John 1768 and Sarah.

As I say its instinct until such time as more resources surface :-(
