PERKINS Family Bilson Green East Dean Cinderford Areas (General)
Hi I have just found this site and searching for any information regarding the above family. Martin Henry Perkins was born around 1857 in east Dean and died in 1927. He married an Elizabeth Knight in 1875 at Westbury on Severn. They had 13 children of which 10 survived. I understand at least 3 of the males went on to join the police force any information on them welcome. I also need the date Elizabeth died. They had a daughter Emily born 1902 and i am trying to find where she is buried after dying in Gloucester Infirmary only 6 months after she was married at Handsworth near Birmingham. It was Emily that married my father Harry Ingles on the 20 June 1931. Finally congratulations on your interesting and informative website. Any information welcomed.

Emily INGLES 1902 -1931 Cinderford
Many thanks for your swift and detailed information on the Perkins family much appreciated. This now leads to two further queries. Would you know whether St John Cinderford has a burial register showing positions of plots/ headstones ?? Secondly would you know whether the Dog Inn at East Dean home for Martin Perkins on the 1871 census is still standing.
Emily INGLES 1902 -1931 Cinderford
. Would you know whether St John Cinderford has a burial register showing positions of plots/ headstones ??
My experience was walking the rows until I found the ones I was looking for , the transcribed entry does not appear to have a row / position reference for Emily
Sometimes you will see :-
Memoranda: B/10/1
Parish_Chapel: Cinderford St Johns
means the grave is in graveyard ground B row 10 position 1

Naomi Jones decd 1900 Cinderford
On your site there is a death record for Naomi that shows that she died in 1900 age 29. Therefore born around 1871/2. I have been unable to find a baptism or marriage record and can find no trace on the census. It is possible that she is the daughter of Naomi Jones ( nee Perkins )born around 1835.It is interesting that the "mother" died in the first quarter of 1900 and the daughter in February 1900. A coincidence or in some way linked. Does anyone have any suggestions to solve the mystery.

PERKINS Family Bilson Green East Dean Cinderford Areas
Hi Martin Perkins is (I think) is my great great grandfather, his son George Perkins b 1888 is my great grandfather who moved to Birmingham and became a policeman. The family stayed in Birmingham and still live here now. I went to a museum in Cinderford and found a book on miners with a photo of Martin Perkins in it who is the spitting image of my dad. Thanks for the informative website!
