George Beach circa 1813 Forest of Dean (General)
Hi
I am reseaching the above character as I believe him to be my GGGrandfather......
He appears on the 1841 (and subsequent) census married to Abiah (Leadbeater) and appears to be the only (surviving?) George Beach 1813 +- 5 years living in Gloucestershire. They moved to Wigan during the 1860's.
The parish records show (a single) baptism in this name on 28/3/1813 at Bream chapel, residence Whitecroft, parents Thomas and Mary...
Searching for baptisms with parents Thomas and Mary brings up
1798 James, residence Forest, Chapel Bream
1800 Emey/Amiah, Forest, Bream
1802 Thomas, Breem, Bream
1805 William, Forest, Bream
1809 Elin/Elizabeth, Forest, Bream
1813 George, Whitecroft, Bream
Searching for marriages between Thomas Beach and Mary brings up a single entry
1797 Mary Kear at Newland Chapel, both residents of Newland
It's tempting for me to regard these as a family grouping but maybe I'm just being rather naive and over optimistic....
I would welcome any comments/guidance from researchers with more knowledge of the parish records/locality than I have
thanks Brian
