John ROBERTS was born in Newland in abt 1799 and married Susan Frown. However I have been unable to find out who his parents or siblings were,as his father is not mentioned in the marriage records.

However the marriage record (20 June 1823 - Register_Reference: P310 IN 1/9) does show a witness being Elizabeth Roberts, however I do not know the relationship.

Any assistance that could be given would be very helpful.

There was a John ROBERTS baptised at Coleford (within the parish of Newland) on 23rd September, 1798. His parents were Thomas and Elizabeth.

Adelaide, and still looking for a baptism of Ann(e) MILES who married Thomas STEEL at Newland in 1798, and was buried there in 1834.

Further to my earlier reply, on the 1841 census living in the parish of Littledean we find a Thomas and Elizabeth ROBERTS, both aged 65 (65-69). He was a blacksmith, as was another Thomas living with them, aged 30 (30-34). All three were born in Gloucestershire.
