Thankyou ever so much for the information. I think it has confirmed a link that I had for Jane Wellington. I have information that Jane lived at Sutton Farm, Flaxley. Has anybody got any info on the Farm and who owned it aroud the early 1800's.
Thanks for your great help.

Hi Sandra,
I own a property called 3 Mount Crete in Littledean.
I have the summary of deeds dating back to 1837. The house was owned by the Wellingtons including those shown on the thread until 1918. This was prepared by the previous owner.
The house was built circa 1750, but I have not had the opportunity to research much further.
If you would like a copy please contact me.
Best wishes

Mother of Thomas WELLINGTON born 1844, Flaxley
by jjedwards , Oakdale, Gwent, Wednesday, November 07, 2012, 21:25 (4432 days ago) @ slowhands
I am trying to determine the mother of my ggrandfather,Thomas WELLINGTON, engine driver, of Lydney, born 1844, Flaxley (father George BEDDIS, according to marriage record for T W); no baptism record found. Mother appears to be either Jane W. born 1816 or her sister Sarah W. born 1819, daughters of John & Elizabeth W., Sutton Farm, Flaxley. Jane later married George Beddis. A Sarah W. of Littledean died a spinster in 1895, aged 76. Executors of her will were Thomas Wellington & George Beddis, collier.
Any leads would be appreciated, thank you.

Thomas was also my gt.grandfather.He was the son of Jane Wellington.I am not certain of his father but it could have been George Beddis whom Jane married later but who appeared to have abandoned her later in life.
Jane was the daughter of John Wellington and Elizabeth Pritchard.
Jane and her sister are buried in Littledean. The gravestone is in very good condition and easily readable.

Thanks for ideas. message will be short due to online problems; am confident that George B is father of Thomas W, but am uncertain as to his mother Jane or Sarah. Has anyone firm evidence

Thanks for recent help. I have now determined from the Wills info on this site and from elsewhere that Jane WELLINGTON, born 1816, was the mother of Thomas Wellington, engine driver. I am not certain that she married his father George BEDDIS. I have found no marriage record and Jane used her maiden name after George absconded to Blaenavon.
Thank you
