Ann Pearce (General)

by Lily59 @, Sunday, December 23, 2012, 00:23 (4417 days ago)

I would like to find some more information for Ann Pearce. She was born abt. 1704 in Flaxley, Gloucestershire. I have not been able to find a baptismal record for her.
I do have her marriage record from 1725 when she married William Bahynham.
If anyone has more information i.e. parents, I would appreciate it.

I don't think either of these dates would work. Since I am sure of her marriage date, these dates would have made her either 12 or 14 when she married.

these dates would have made her either 12 or 14 when she married.

Which is possible in 1720's

"Before Hardwicke's Marriage Act of 1753 there was no lower legal age of marriage, except during the 1650's when it was 16 for men and 14 for women. In 1753 it was fixed at 14 for men and 12 for women and remained at that until the Age of Marriage Act 1929 when it was raised to 16 for both."

Hi Lily,
apologies for late reply, but I wonder if this is your "Ann", from the free Church of Latterday Saints site;

name: Hannah Pearce
gender: Female

baptism/christening place: NEWNHAM,GLOUCESTER,ENGLAND
birth date:

mother's name: Hannah
mother's birthplace:

(Newnham's just three miles from Flaxley).

Hopefully this link will help find the relevant LDS page

Also from LDS c1700-1710 are these probably related PRs:

name: Rich Pearce
gender: Male
baptism/christening date: 22 Apr 1701
baptism/christening place: NEWNHAM,GLOUCESTER,ENGLAND
birth date:
birthplace:
death date: 07 Jun 1701

baptism/christening date: 24 May 1705

plus the site shows some Pierce(/Pearce etc) children, father Rich, christened at Arlingham just across the Severn from Newnham, and a different Pierce family at nearby Abinghall.

I recommend further searching of the LDS site, I realise it can be very laborious but a great resource nonetheless.
I hope this helps.

PS I see the above 1707 PR is in the FoD site's PRs too.
