I am interested in further information on Pearce and Stephens buried at Mitcheldean church.
In particular Richard Pearce (tomb near the church entrance - d 7 Sep 1778) and John Stephens (inside the church - d 23 April 1767) and their families.

For this to be same Richard Pearce snr there must be a typo on either the tombstone inscription (which clearly shows 7 Sep 1778) or the register transcript.
Jane, died 5 May 1780 according to the tombstone, does not seem to be in the parish record.

The tombstone inscription reads quite clearly
Sacred
to the memory of
RICHd PEARCE
glazier, Obit 7th Sept 1778
aged 56 years
And of JANE his Wife
Obit 5th May 1780
aged 54 years (looks like 84)
so I suspect Ann and Robert are other people.
The Richard Pearce of the the Deed could well to be the grandson of that of the tombstone (and brother of Sarah Pearce who married William Stephens)
