Hi Slowhands

I spent a very long time replying to this posting. When I clicked on submit, I had a message saying the site was busy and it was all lost. As I am not too busy at the moment, I will have another go.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I have Thomas & George Meek in my Family Tree, connected but not related, but I have connections to relations via George Thomas Meek & Hannah Barnard via their daughter Amelia Meek 1874 who married my half 3rd cousin Charles Brain 1869. As an aside their daughter Amelia May Brain 4 Nov 1898 married Lionel Watkins 1898, whose grandmother was Esther Watkins, great great grandmother of David Watkins.

As ever I gained information from your posting, so in fairness I thought I would add to the story, having discovered that Samuel Williams 1869 is in my Family Tree. He is not related but connected, and I am sure you can already see a Marfell connection on the horizon !!

Samuel Williams was the son of Amos Williams 1839 & Harriett Turner 1840 - still not related but you know my penchant for following the siblings & parents of spouses. Harriett Turner was the daughter of William Turner 1801 & Maria James 1811 Bristol, married 12 Dec 1833 Cheltenham - 7 children including George Turner 1845 who married my 1st cousin 3 times removed Elizabeth Marfell born 28 Jun 1849, married 13 Oct 1867 St John's West Dean - 10 children.

Amos Williams 1839 was the son of John Williams 1786 & Elizabeth - 4 children including Sarah Williams 1828 who married John Yemm 20 Feb 1831 on 7 Jun 1855 Cinderford, again connected but not related, but their children lead to related Brain's, Baldwin's, Meeks etc.

The Great Grandaughter of George Turner 1844 shown here via son Leonard 1883 is Kerryl Turner, my 4th cousin and main Australian contact, who I met in Perth in 2008. She is currently recovering from an operation on her Kidney, I am sure you will join me in wishing her a speedy recovery.
