Powell family from Lydbrook (Parish Records)
I am trying find the baptism of Sarah Powell born 1818 approx, in Lydbrook. Her brother Thomas Powell born 1816, also in Lydbrook lived with Sarah and husband James Shott in 1871.

Powell family from Lydbrook
Following up the Aston Ingham connection, the GR transcription of the 1871 Census has,
Linton, Heref
Daniel TAYLOR, Head, 27, Farm Labourer, born Glos, Oxenhall
Emma TAYLOR, Wife, 20, born Heref, Aston Ingham
William TAYLOR, Son, 1, born Heref, Linton
Sarah SHOTT, Mother-in-law, 52, Tailoress, born Glos, Lydbrook
Emma ties up with the SHOTT household at Aston Ingham in 1861 when she is aged 10 and in 1851 when she is 1 month.
However, this Sarah SHOTT doesn't seem to tie up with the 1871 information in the first post. Is she a different one?
As a matter of morbid interest there is a long report (too long to transcribe) in the Cheltenham Chronicle, 29th August 1865 (and others in the Gloucester Journal), of a James SHOTT and Emma SHOTT (aged 15) of Gorsley (not far from Linton)as witnesses in the inquest of a murder victim at Upleadon (Sarah Maria Davis). The places and ages fit.

Memo to self. This might explain it,
1871 Census, GR transcription,
Aston Ingham
James SHOTT, Head, Married, age unclear (40 with "not known" written after. Could be 60) Woodcutter, born Heref, Aston Ingham.
Thomas POWELL, Lodger, 55, Hurdlemaker, born Glos. Lydbrook
Looks like Sarah was with her daughter on Census night.
