In the name of God Amen I Richard Harris of the Possession
House in Parish of Wollestone in the County of Glocester_____
Gentleman being sick and weak in Body but of sound Mind___
Memory and understanding o make Publish and declare this
My last will and Testament in manner following That is to say
All my freehold Messuage Tenement and dwelling House wherein
I now dwell called by the Name of the Posession House with the__
Garden Orchard Lands and Premises thereunto belonging And
all other my freehold Messuages Lands Tenements Hereditaments
and Premises at Brookend All which said Messuages there
and Premises called the Possession House and those at Brookend
are Situate lying and being in the Parish of Wollestone in
the County of Gloucester together also with all other my freehold
Messuages Lands Tenements Hereditaments and Premises
Situate lying and being in the said Parish of Wollastone
And Elsewhere in the Kingdom of Great Britain whereof or
Wherein I now am or shall at the Time of my Decease be
possessed of an entitled unto in Possession Reversion_____
Remainder or Expectancy I Give and Devise unto my
Brother William Harris of Brookend aforesaid______
Sailmaker and James Hammond of Wollastone in the said
County of Glocester Farmer To hold to them their heirs and
Assigns In Trust nevertheless To the use and behoof of
my Wife Mary for and during the Term of her Natural Life
and from and after her Decease To the Use and behoof
of my daughter Mary Sadler Harris and the issue of her__
Boy lawfully begotten And forward and in default of
Such issue To the Use and behoof of my nephew Richard
Harris Son of Walter Harris of Walford in the County of __
Hereford Gentleman his Heirs and assigns forever And
it is my Will That my said nephew Richard Harris being
(new page) in possession of my said Estate do and shall pay unto all
and every the Daughters of the said Walter Harris his
the said Richard Harris’s sisters then living The sum of One Hundred
Pounds apiece at their respective ages of Twenty One
years and o hereby charge and make Chargeable
my said Estate with the payment thereof by ye said Richard
Harris All and Singular my Household furniture
And Household Effects I give and bequeath to my said
Wife Mary to use and Enjoy the same without
The control and Management of any Person or Persons
Whatsoever for her life And from and after her Decease
I give the same to the said William Harris
And James Hammond In Trust for the Purpose
Herein after mentioned All and Singular my___
Leasehold Estate ready Money Securities for Money
good Chattels and Effects other than my Household__
Furniture as aforesaid and such Household____
Furniture after the decease of my said wife I give and
bequeath unto the said William Harris and James
Hammond upon this Special Trust and Confidence
That the Said William Harris and James Hammond
and the survivor of them and the Executors Administrator
and Assigns of such Survivor do and shall permit and
suffer my said wife Mary to have receive take and
Enjoy the Interest Rent Produce and Profits thereof
for and during the Natural Life of her my said Wife
and to take upon her the Management thereof for her
Life and from and after her decease upon this
Further Trust and Confidence to permit and suffer my
Daughter Mary Sadler Harris to have use and Enjoy any
said Household Furniture until she shall arrive to her age
of twenty four years and as to all the rest and Remainder
of my Personal Estate and Effects after the decease of my said
Wife to receive and take the Rent Interest Produce and
Profits thereof and to pay and apply the same to and for
the Benefit of my said Daughter Mary Sadler
Harris until she shall arrive to the age of Twenty four
years with a Power for my said Trustees the said
William Harris and James Hammond to call in the Monies__
Part of my said Personal Estate and [unclear] the same
at Interest at their discretion an wholly to manage the
same with the Rents an Profits of any said Real Estates
after the decease of my said Wife for the [unclear} Benefit
of my said daughter till her age of Twenty four years
when I do hereby give and bequeath the same [unclear]
every Paid and Parcell thereof to her for her own sole
use and Benefit an at her disposal And it is my Will that
my said Wife Mary in case she shall love so long shall
support maintain and educate my said Daughter till
her age of Twenty four years and at her age of Twenty
four years in case my said Wife shall be living I do
hereby give her my said Daughter Mary Sadler
Harris the Sum of Five Hundred Pounds for her own sole
use and Benefit an do hereby desire my said Wife to
pay her the same out of any said Personal Estate
But in case my said Daughter Mary Sadler Harris shall
depart this life before her age of Twenty four years
Thereafter the decease of my said Wife Mary I do hereby
Give and Bequeath the whole of my said ______

Part two
(new page) and James Hammond Upon their further Special Trust
and Confidence that they the said William Harris and
James Hammond and the survivor of them and the
Executors Administrators and assigns of such Survivor do
and shall pay and apply the sum of Eight Hundred Pounds
part of any said Personal Estate to such Person and
Persons and for such uses and in such manner of use
as my said Wife shall by her last Will and Testament or
other instrument in writing duly enacted Give dispose
of and direct the same And to pay and apply
all the rest Residue and Remainder of any said___
Personal Estate in the such Case to any said nephew the
said Richard Harris for his own sole use and Benefit
forever Also I do hereby direct my said Wife Mary to give
and distribute unto the Poor of the Parish of Wollastone
the sum of Five Pounds in bread in the following manner
One pound each Sunday for the five Sundays next after my
Decease at the Church door of the Parish of Wollastone to such
of the Poor of the said Parish as she and the said William
Harris and James Hammond shall think proper who
have each of the said Sundays attended Divine Service
in the said Church and to thereby change my said Personal
Estate with the Payment thereof and with the Payment of
all my Just debts and funeral Expenses And hereby revoking
all former wills by me heretofore made do declare this to
be me last Will and Testament and of this my Will do hereby
nominate and appoint my said wife Mary the said William
Harris and James Hammond Sole Executors In Witness
Whereof I have hereunto set my Hand and Seal the Twenty
Third day of April in the year of our Lord One Thousand
seven Hundred and Eighty One Richard Harris
