The Roberts family 1911 - Belle Vue Road Cinderford (General)

by Nick Dub @, Wednesday, December 07, 2022, 15:24 (749 days ago)

I wonder if anyone has any info on the Roberts family who were living at Manchester Villa, Belle Vue Road, Cinderford in 1911?
The family was Thomas Roberts (head) - his wife Esther Ann Roberts (née Powell) and their 6 children :-
Eliza, Annie Matilda, Bessie, Thomas, James Richard and Harry Anthony

My reason for asking is that my maternal grandfather George Worgan, his wife and two daughters are listed at the same address on the 1911 census and were presumably renting rooms there.

Both my grandfather and Thomas Roberts were working as coal miners.

Thanks for that - brilliant info.

by the time of the 1921 census

James Richard Roberts was working at Lightmoor colliery
Harry Anthony Roberts was working at Foxes Bridge colliery

I suspect my grandfather may also have worked at Lightmoor 1910/1914, but I doubt I'll ever be sure of that.
